NABC™ Cancels Lone Star Pars for Cars
Golf Fundraiser and May In-Person Board Meeting
Golf Fundraiser and May In-Person Board Meeting
As the automotive repair industry continues to face challenges due to the coronavirus global pandemic, many of the NABC members are smartly sheltering at home until this passes. In light of these two factors, we believe the responsible decision is to cancel the NABC™ Lone Star Pars for Cars Golf Fundraiser at Texas Star Golf Course on May 27 and the in-person NABC™ Board Meeting on May 28. We will host a virtual closed board meeting in May as an alternative. We hope that we will soon return to our new normal daily lives and resume rebuilding our businesses.
Through the NABC Recycled Rides® program, we have four vehicles from the original Dallas event date on April 2 that are ready for presentation. Thank you to our vehicle donors – GEICO, Farmers Insurance, Allstate and State Farm – and our vehicle repair partners Service King, Gerber Collision and two Berkshire Hathaway Automotive locations, Reliable Chevrolet and Westway Ford. We are working to determine dates for presenting these vehicles to these deserving individuals.
During these times, the National Auto Body Council® is still working hard for you, looking at how we can continue our focus on Changing and Saving Lives Every Day. We are working to reschedule many NABC Recycled Rides® presentations, NABC F.R.E.E.™ programs and NABC DDI™ education events with CREF for later this year. We are also planning with our NABC™ members for many more events as we emerge from this challenge.
We understand that many companies and individuals in the collision repair industry are facing hardships. Some are on the frontlines continuing to repair customers’ vehicles, others are working from home while many have been furloughed or laid off. Our thoughts go out to everyone impacted by the coronavirus challenge, and we hope that we will soon see a positive path to a return to our new normal life.
We apologize that unforeseen circumstances have pushed us to cancel this event, and thank you for your understanding.
We look forward to seeing everyone in St. Louis in September!
